Milk Cup debutants Malàga CF of Spain met Scottish side Partick Thistle in their second game of the tournament, at Riada Stadium, Ballymoney.

As the rain lashed down, it was the Russian side who started with the early incentive as Malaga keeper Javier Palomo kept out a low shot from Chavlov Feder. Malaga were let off the hook once again on eight minutes as Karmonev Maxim dinked a delightful ball over the top for Ryaboken Pavel, who got through one on one but rolled his effort wide. Brian Nieto was an inch away from putting the Blue and Whites into the lead as he charged on to a Jose Nunez through ball, but before he got a shot away CSKA keeper Ovchinnikov Pavel closed him down to claim the loose ball. Both sides were playing cautious but still managing to play attractive football .

A Mackenzie McCubbin man of the match performance helped Newcastle United claim a classy 2-0 win against Higashi Fukuoka FC at the Riada Stadium.

In Monday’s Premier Section, County Antrim produced a thoroughly accomplished performance to see off Strikers FC, Jack McCourt giving the local side a half time lead before a second half brace from Thomas Roscoe added some gloss to the scoreline.

Real Sociedad battled their way to a 1-0 victory over County Armagh at a rain soaked Seahaven tonight in an engaging encounter.

In the initial stages of play, Fermanagh demonstrated good attacking from their number 16 Caolan Ward, forcing Partick Thistle to defend early on. Fermanagh looked threatening when number 8 Conall Quinn rifled a free kick over the bar and the Partick goalie was forced into an early save
