Tyrone v Fermanagh – Premier Section Match Report

County Tyrone took on County Fermanagh in the Semi Final of the Salver competition. A competitive game was expected in this local derby. 
 
Fermanagh took the lead inside fifteen minutes through Phillip Beacom as he rose like a salmon to bullet in a header past Tiernan Gallagher with the first shot of the match . 
 
County Tyrone had their first shot of the game as Rhyss Campbell whipped in a free-kick, but it was well saved by Jordan Coalter in the county Fermanagh goal. 
 
Conor McGee kept County Fermanagh’s lead intact when he cleared Adam McCrea’s shot off the line. However, County Fermanagh could have doubled their lead as Gallagher made a superb reaction save from Callum Frempong’s shot. 
 
Halftime 
 County Tyrone 0-1 County Fermanagh 
 
It was County Fermanagh who had the first chance of the second period when Eoghan Curran’s free-kick went through the county Tyrone wall, only for the unsighted Gallagher to save . 
 
The game could have been out of sight for County Tyrone as the super Gallagher made another fine save from point blank range to stop Jordan Breen tucking away a second. 
 
However Gallagher was beaten two minutes later as a goalmouth scramble saw Caolan Ward poke the ball home to double County Fermanagh’s lead. 
 
County Tyrone had a chance to pull a goal back with eight minutes left as Adam McCrea got on the end of Dale Robinson’s cross but he could only direct his header into the arms of Coulter. 
 
With three  minutes to go County Tyrone had a lifeline as Keiffer Scott fired low into the net after County Fermanagh failed to clear their lines.
 
 
Tyrone finished with a flourish through the impressive Adam McCrea as he nearly equalised with a superb diving header but the ball just rolled wide of the goal .
 
There  was nearly late late drama at Roe Mill with County Tyrone hitting the post through Robbie Brown. His drive from range looked destined for the bottom corner but the ball crashed against the woodwork. 
 
It just wasn’t to be for County Tyrone as County Fermanagh held on for the local bragging rights and a crucial confidence boosting win .
