Crusaders U14s jetted off to Dubai today (Tuesday 8th April 2025) to represent Northern Ireland on the global stage at the world-renowned Mina Cup after being crowned champions of the 2024 Budget Energy SuperCupNI Boys’ Minor Section.
The North Belfast club will make history as the first-ever Budget Energy SuperCupNI champions to travel to the Middle East as part of a groundbreaking new partnership between two of the world’s leading youth football tournaments.
This international collaboration will see winning teams from each tournament earn the opportunity to compete in the other aimed at strengthening global ties and providing development pathways for young players, both on and off the pitch.
The partnership has already seen success, with Barca Academy Dubai becoming the first Middle Eastern side to compete at Budget Energy SuperCupNI in 2024. That connection will continue in 2025 with Fursan Hispania set to take part in the Boys’ Minor Section.
Crusaders earned their ticket to Dubai after winning the 2024 Budget Energy SuperCupNI Boys’ Minor Section, seeing off top opposition including Plymouth Argyle and Celtic before defeating rivals Linfield in a thrilling all-Belfast final at the Coleraine Showgrounds.

The tournament kicks off on Wednesday 9th April and the draw has placed the Crusaders U14s in a highly competitive group alongside LaLiga Academy Dubai, Manchester City Football School UAE and Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah.
