Premier Section Match Report – Right To Dream 4 – 2 Real Sociedad

Jul 29, 2016 | Premier Section

Right to Dream finished their campaign with a comprehensive defeat of Real Sociedad in the final of the Premier Bowl tournament in Broughshane on Friday afternoon.

In the sunshine, Right to Dream only took a minute to get on to the score sheet, as Iratiz Gelbentzu could only palm a Kamal Sowah free kick into the path of King Baidoo, who was able to tap the ball in. Right to Dream continued to heap the pressure on Sociedad, going close when Nicklas Jacobsen weaved into the area and forced Gelbentzu into a good save across his body.

Right to Dream were punished for not converting their dominance into more goals when Nace Koprivnik robbed Right to Dream goalkeeper Stephen Sarkodie and slotted the ball into the open goal. Only moments later Sociedad almost took the lead when Inaki Recio flicked the ball to Koprivnik, whose shot was smothered by Sarkodie.

Right to Dream went close to retaking the lead just before the break, when King Baidoo flicked a header across the Sociedad goal, but none of the Right to Dream players could divert the ball in.

Right to Dream started the second half with a goal, like they started the first, when Clinton Antwi broke down the left and crossed to an unmarked Mohammed Kudos, who stabbed home to give Right to Dream the lead once again. Soon after Right to Dream extended their lead further, when Baidoo was on hand to tuck home the rebound from a Jacobsen strike.

Sociedad struck back almost immediately when a Julen Lobete cross was taken in by Ekain Regil, who was then able to finish past Sarkodie from a tight angle.

Baidoo was played in for his hat trick after 65 minutes but he mishit his shot straight at Gelbentzu.

Despite Sociedad starting to pile on the pressure towards the end looking for an equalizer, Right to Dream completed the scoring when a wayward pass from a Sociedad defender was picked up by Jonathan Amon, who dispatched his shot in the bottom corner to assure Right to Dream of the title.
