Premier Section Day 3 Preview – County Sides Chasing Semi Spots

Jul 29, 2015 | Premier Section

COUNTY ANTRIM and COUNTY LONDONDERRY are 2 of the 5 teams with the maximum 6 points in the bag, heading into the final group games in this year’s Premier Section. These five sides control their own destiny but there are plenty of other teams hot on their tail for a place in the Dale Farm Milk Cup semi-finals.

Table toppers Antrim will be looking for their third win in a row in today’s fixture against Japanese outfit Higashi Fukuoka at Parker Avenue (5pm kickoff), whilst Londonderry face off against another of the sides with a perfect record in CSKA MOSCOW. The Russian side have seen off the challenge of Malaga and Lusaka so far and a big crowd will be expected for today’s match at Riada Stadium in Ballymoney where something will have to give (4pm kick-off).

Ghana’s RIGHT TO DREAM are also on 6 points following impressive victories over County Tyrone and Newcastle Utd. They take on Strikers FC at 5pm in Broughshane looking to continue their perfect streak. O’HIGGINS of Chile also have their fate in their own hands, with victory against Motherwell in Portstewart (3.30pm) required to maintain their perfect start.

So five teams have the ball in their court on Day 3, but there are plenty of others waiting to take advantage on any slip-ups, notably the three sides sitting on four points after the first two fixtures. CLUB AMERICA of Mexico take on OC Blues at Castlerock (5pm), whilst OTAGO of New Zealand face County Armagh at Clough (3.30pm) and REAL SOCIEDAD face South American opposition in Alset Colombia in a 7pm fixture at the Ballymena Showgrounds.
