Mexican side Club America came out as 2-1 winners at the Riada stadium in a repeat of last year’s Premier Section final.
The deadlock was almost broken just 1 minute into the game, Diego Lopez’s lob sailing just over the crossbar following a superb ball over the top of the Right to Dream defence from Oswaldo Hernandez.
It was that man Hernandez who would score the opening goal of the game just 3 minutes later, his free kick from wide sailing all the way in past a helpless Emmanuel Ogura.
Right to Dream were struggling to get into the match in the early stages, unable to find the passing rhythm that had served them so well in their previous games.
The Ghanaian sides’ problems worsened 15 minutes in, Santiago Naveda producing a wonder strike from 40 yards out that nestled perfectly in the top corner.
Kelvin Ofori was proving the one bright spark for Right to Dream in what was a otherwise drab first half performance and it was his shot that was almost fumbled into his own net by Fernando Tapia, who was relieved to see the ball squirm behind for a corner.

Right to Dream came out in the second half like a team who knew they only had 35 minutes to keep their Super Cup dreams alive, Kamaldeen Sulemana having his shot tipped onto the bar by Tapia in the opening stages of the second half.
Tapia’s crossbar was shaking again just minutes later, Noah Crone hitting the bar from close range with a shot he will feel he should have converted.
It was the Mexican side who were now on the back foot, however they were unlucky not to increase their lead after 61 minutes, Diego Lopez’s effort ruled out for offside following a parry from Ogura in the Right to Dream goal.
The 2017 premier champions finally had the goal their second-half performance warranted 65 minutes in, Thor Hoholt nodding in following a spot of head tennis in the Club America penalty area.
Emmanuel Bam was always a willing runner on the R.T.D right and it was his burst of pace and cross that provided Noah Crone with a superb chance to equalise, but his header was badly mistimed.
From a position of dominance, the Mexican side were now holding on, and their frustration boiled over in stoppage time, Jose Gutierrez dismissed for an off the ball incident.
Club America would go on to secure the win that sees them through to the Super Cup NI semi-final against Co. Down.
Right to Dream will have to pick themselves up ahead of a Super Cup Vase semi final against Ichifuna at Parker Avenue.
