The Budget Energy SuperCupNI has confirmed that all group stage fixtures scheduled to take place at Scroggy Road, Limavady, will now be played at Limavady Showgrounds.

Following routine inspections of the playing surface, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, in consultation with the Budget Energy SuperCupNI Tournament Management Team and Board of Directors, took the decision to relocate the affected fixtures.

The move has been made in the best interests of player welfare and to ensure participating teams continue to experience the quality of facilities and playing environment expected of the Budget Energy SuperCupNI.

Sam Gamble, Tournament Coordinator of the Budget Energy SuperCupNI said: “Player welfare is always our first priority. Once Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council identified concerns with the playing surface at Scroggy Road and took the decision to relocate the fixtures, we immediately started working with the Council to manage the change.

“I’d like to thank the Council for the way they’ve worked with us throughout the process. Together, we’ve been able to put everything in place quickly so the fixtures can go ahead as scheduled at Limavady Showgrounds.

“Our team is now focused on making sure everything is ready for the teams, officials, volunteers and supporters when the tournament gets underway, and we look forward to three good days of football in Limavady.”

The following fixtures will now take place at Limavady Showgrounds:

  • Monday 27 July: Boys’ Junior: Celtic FC v Blackburn Rovers (3.00pm)
  • Tuesday 28 July: Boys’ Junior: County Londonderry v Chicago City (3.00pm)
