Vendee dispatched of Alset Colombia in a convincing fashion to earn their first win of the Salver tournament in Clough on Thursday afternoon.

From the kick off Vendee took control of possession and were denied by an excellent goal line clearance from a Yannick David shot in the opening minutes. Vendee were not to be denied for long however, as Louis Robin tricked his way into the box and found Tom Tirand, who slotted into the corner.

With Tirand becoming more influential in the game, it was only a matter of time before Vendee doubled their lead. The second goal came when Baptiste Trichet expertly lofted a free kick onto the head of Dara Koulaclau, who powered it home.

Alset threatened from set pieces throughout the first half and were unfortunate not to cut the deficit when captain Nicolasa Luna drove his free kick just over the bar.

Vendee continued to control the tempo at the start of the second half, and only took a minute to net their third. David weaved into the Alset penalty area and squared for Tirand, who slotted past Samuel Guevara in the Alset goal.

Almost immediately after the goal Vendee found themselves in a threatening position once more, and were only thwarted by a fine Guevara save diving to his right to deny Trichet.

Vendee were not to be denied much longer as they made it 4-0 after an hour when a deep corner was met by Koulaclau who lashed home for his second of the match. Trichet then completed the scoring for Vendee when his curling effort beat the outstretched hand of substitute keeper Juan Mena to nestle in the top corner.

Alset were afforded their best chance of the match at the end when a defensive mix up allowed Santiago Hernandez to round the keeper and pull the ball back to Daniel Malpica, who could only put his shot over the crossbar. Vendee managed to hold on to their clean sheet and should be full of confidence ahead of their final fixture tomorrow.
