The final game of Group D began for each team today, which saw Celtic top the group as Glentoran finished 3rd.
It was Celtic who took the lead from a corner. The ball landed at the feet of Jadan Nish, who finished with a side foot to put Celtic a goal up.
Celtic quickly doubled their lead, as Zion Pullan chested down a cross and poked the ball past the goalkeeper.
Celtic began to dominate possession until Glentoran found a way back into the game. It came from a free kick into the box. The referee spotted a pull on the shirt of Jack Doran, resulting in a penalty for Glentoran. Jack Doran stepped up, whipping the ball into the bottom right corner, sending the ‘keeper the wrong way.
Celtic almost got their two goal advantage back as some more skilful play from Zion Pullan gave him the chance to get a shot away, however, he saw his effort come back off the post.
It did not take long for Celtic to get another after half time. A free kick whipped in broke to Abdel Kalombo, who rifled a volley past the Glens ‘keeper to give them a 2-goal cushion.
Glentoran struggled to create many chances in the second half, with their best chance falling to Miceal O’Hanlon. The ball was played into him well, giving him the chance to get a shot on goal but fired his effort over the bar.
The game was sealed for Celtic, as Jadan Nish grabbed a second goal. A ball played through left him one on one with the goalkeeper. He remained composed, calmly finishing into the bottom right corner.
Celtic finish group winners with 9 points, while Glentoran finish 3rd with 3 points.
