The Board of the Budget Energy SuperCupNI has appointed William Campbell as a Director following his departure from the Irish Football Association after 38 years of service.
Campbell, the association’s longest-serving member of staff, held a number of senior roles during his time, most recently serving as Head of the Chief Executive’s Office.
Over nearly four decades, he also worked across finance, operations and governance within the organisation.
A well-known figure in football circles, he was match co-ordinator and match manager for 110 senior international fixtures between 1983 and 2013, overseeing a number of Northern Ireland’s most notable results during that period.
He was part of the backroom team for Northern Ireland at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico and also served as a UEFA match delegate.
Campbell was also the longest-serving member of the International Football Association Board (IFAB), the body responsible for the laws of the game, before stepping down in 2024.

Now entering its 43rd year, the Budget Energy SuperCupNI will take place from Sunday 26th to Friday 31st July 2026, featuring more than 60 teams from across the world.
Over 1,200 players are expected to compete in more than 150 matches across five age groups, with fixtures held across Causeway Coast and Glens, Antrim and Newtownabbey, and Mid and East Antrim.
The Boys’ Section Cup Finals will be held at the Coleraine Showgrounds on Friday 31st July, with the Girls’ Section Cup Finals taking place at Dixon Park, Ballyclare on Thursday 30th July.
