Junior Section: Right to Dream 2-0 North Dublin SL
Right to Dream maintain 100% record
Right to Dream maintained their 100% record, booking their place in the semi-final of the Supercup NI in the process, with a comfortable victory over North Dublin SL in Broughshane.
Right to Dream looked energetic from the kick off and were unfortunate not to get on the score sheet early when a shot from Kamal Deen was palmed behind by North Dublin goalkeeper Sean Bohan. Not long after Oliver Villadsen brought a fantastic reflex save from Bohan when he was played through on goal. With Right to Dream controlling the tempo, Bohan was called on to make another fine stop, this time from a curling Kelvin Ofori attempt.
Right to dream were able to break the deadlock when Solomon Adomako snuck in at the back post to slide a shot under Bohan from a corner. The lead was doubled when Mohammed Diomande found himself with time in the North Dublin box, and was able to calmly lift the ball over the onrushing Bohan. Maxwell Woledzi almost made it 3-0 just before the break, but he failed to made contact to an inviting cross.
The visitors from Ghana started the second half with the same impetus they had in the first and almost added a third goal when Abdul Basit knocked his free kick just over the bar. A great last-ditch tackle for North Dublin captain Sean O’Rourke thwarted Emmanuel Bam from getting his shot in on goal in their next attack. A sweeping move which culminated in a shot from the edge of the area by Mervin Mambo was again foiled by a sprawling Bohan near the end of the match.
For North Dublin SL they have a bowl game to look forward to, but for Right to Dream it is now an anxious wait to see who they face in the Semi-final of the Supercup.
