Bertie Peacock Award Winners

This year’s Bertie Peacock Award Winners, Mark Megarry, Co Tyrone Premier Section and Brendan Glackin, Co Antrim Junior Section, attended the University of Ulster Institute of Sport at Jordanstown this week to commence part of their Award.

 

The Bertie Peacock Award goes to the County Player of the Tournament in the Junior and Premier Sections of the Milk Cup. The winners of this prestigious award is decided after match officials vote for the Man of the Match in every game played during the week. The player from the Northern Ireland County teams with most votes is named the County Player of the Tournament and Bertie Peacock Award winner in the Premier and Junior Sections.

 

Each of the players is presented with a trophy at the Finals in Ballymena and also receive some football training kit.

 

The players are also enrolled for a number of courses over a twelve month period at the University of Ulster covering such topics as fitness, nutrition, recovery and rehabilitation which will further their ambitions of becoming a better, all round sportsman and athlete.
